MENDESAIN EVALUASI KURIKULUM MERDEKA DI SEKOLAH MENENGAH KEJURUAN ( SMK )

Abstract

Curriculum evaluation is an essential component of curriculum development and the continuous improvement of educational systems. Through curriculum evaluation, the effectiveness of curriculum planning, implementation, and outcomes can be systematically assessed to determine the extent to which educational objectives have been achieved. Therefore, the design of curriculum evaluation should be developed comprehensively by considering evaluation objectives, evaluation models, instruments, procedures, and the utilization of evaluation results as a basis for decision-making. This paper aims to examine the concept of designing curriculum evaluation, the underlying principles, the evaluation models employed, and the procedures for developing effective evaluation instruments. The study adopts a library research method by analyzing books, scholarly journals, and relevant documents related to curriculum evaluation. The findings indicate that an effective curriculum evaluation design should adhere to the principles of validity, reliability, objectivity, comprehensiveness, and continuity. Furthermore, the application of various evaluation models, such as the Tyler Model, the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) Model, and the Goal-Free Evaluation Model, should be adapted to the objectives and context of the evaluation. Evaluation instruments should also be developed systematically to generate accurate, reliable, and accountable data. Consequently, a well-designed curriculum evaluation plays a crucial role in enhancing curriculum quality, improving the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process, and promoting the continuous advancement of educational quality.
